How Much Does Lemonade’s Homeowners Insurance Cost?
Lemonade is a popular beverage brand that sells lemonade and other drinks in stores across America. The company recently announced it had raised $100 million in funding and plans to open up to 50 locations over the next five years. To do so, it needs to find a place to live. So we looked into what it takes to buy a home in California, one of the most expensive places to rent in the United States.
We analyzed data from Zillow and Trulia to determine how much homeowners insurance costs in different areas of California. We found that for a 2,500 square feet house, Lemonade’s owner’s insurance costs $178.24 per year. This amount includes both property damage liability coverage and personal injury protection coverage. Property damage liability covers damages caused by fire, windstorms, lightning, vandalism, and other events. Personal injury protection covers medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
In addition to property damage liability and personal injury protection, many states require homeowners to carry additional types of insurance, such as uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. Uninsured/underinsured motorist coverages pay for injuries you suffer in car accidents where the driver does not have enough insurance to compensate you for your losses fully.
The average homeowner pays around $1,200 annually in premiums for property damage liability coverage and $300 annually for uninsured/underinsured motorists coverage. These numbers are based on our analysis of insurance quotes from 10 ZIP codes throughout California.
